County Problem *Imperial 13 SOV not split poll/vbm *Lassen 18 SOV doesn’t include local races Los Angeles 19 totvote does not equal that on registrar’s website or SOS report. Per Brian Ikenaga: ’This has to do with inconsistency in BC with multi-page vbm cards. The ballot cast total for the election is a tally of the ballot received by party. The ballots cast per contest are all based on the number of cards received for that contest. I believe card one was flagged as the “key card”. There are no countywide contests on card one so there is no way I can think of where you can track a total ballots cast to a statewide contest.’ Used counts from U.S. Senate race (from StatewideDB-2024MarchPres-SOV-BC.txt) these include overvotes and undervotes and comes out close to what the SOS and registrar reported. Also, 22 svprecs had 2 SDs in the county precinct district file. This means there was no race so no SD was specified. Set those SDs to zero in SOV table. *Madera 20 SOV has privacy option set - no low vote counts Orange 30 SOS SOV Voter Participation by County page, they have 106,283 precinct voters and 578,755 vbm voters. vote center votes (precinct voters) I get 106,282 and the vote by mail votes (vbm voters) are 578,756. Spoke to Matt Eimers, OC GIS supervisor and he confirmed that their numbers were correct and that the SOS numbers were not. ***USED AS IS*** There is a 99999 sv precinct that doesn’t show in the consol file or the precinct district file. As in the 2022 primary, that precinct was created to hold all of the precincts that have 1-9 voters in them (for voter privacy). Treated as in 2022 - set districts to 0 and ignored differences in totals. ***USED AS IS*** There were 137 rg precincts that had registration but did not make it into the sov report (all small numbers and OC doesn’t consolidate) - likely as they no voters who voted. This caused problems with the merge so added all of them to the end of the sov report with only the registration. All other fields were zeroed out. SLO 40 svprec 522 has a reg of 36 and a turnout of 97. Chad Hildebrand (SLO SysAdmin) said: “that precinct polling place was at the Cal Poly college campus so they likely had a lot of new voters, voters at the wrong poll, etc. The registration totals on the SOV do not account for CVRs which likely brought the vote total above the registration total reported at close of registration." ***USED AS IS*** Santa Barbara 42 3 records in the SOS registration files had precincts that were not on the county maps. Sheila Hess, Election Supervisor said that they were listed as ’Active Non-Survivor’ which means that those records were superseded by new ones. They provided the new ids and I removed the old ones from the reg file. Old stateids 38598357, 34380993 and 38562780. Santa Clara 43 Some of the Congressional District 16 totals from the county SOV don't agree with what the SOS SOV has - or what the county itself has on its website: Candidate County SOV SOS SOV (and county website) Evan Low 25,093 25,082 Sam Liccardo 31,564 31,561 Joby Bernstein 1,236 1,235 Joe Simitian 23,775 23,768 Peter Ohtaki 18,078 18,071 Peter Dixon 9,911 9,907 Karl Ryan 9,417 9,412 Rishi Kumar 10,358 10,353 Ahmed Mustafa 4,575 4,572 According to Svetlana Velyutina from the county registrar's office, the differences are due to a recount. ***USED AS IS*** Solano 48 129 records in the SOS reg file had invalid registration precincts. Solano was unable/unwilling to give corrections but Cecilia was able to use a precinct change change list to create an rr file to correct them.
