Dataset: 2018 Primary Election Precinct Data

Description:  This file contains statewide registration data for registered voters that voted at a polling place.

Unit of analysis: RR precincts are derived from consolidated registration precincts and are a geographic unit constructed for statistical merging purposes by the Statewide Database.

Data user notes: 

Note 1. Some California counties conduct "all-mail" elections and no longer have precinct polling places. 
All registered voters in these counties are forced to vote by mail-ballot.
 
Counties that conducted the 2018 Primary election as an all "Vote-by-Mail" election: 
003 - Alpine does not have poll voters. It is an all forced vote-by-mail county.
063 - Plumas does not have poll voters. It is an all forced vote-by-mail county.
091 - Sierra does not have poll voters. It is an all forced vote-by-mail county.
